Pointe Claire resides in a quiet area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. Many people unfamiliar with the word tend to think it's a separate island somewhere to the west of Montreal However, in reality this part of West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is commonly known as the place where she was born. However, she only resided there for a very short time. Her role as Rita from the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most memorable. Brugel is the sole Canadian of the Season 1 actors of the series and only seen occasionally was the sole Canadian.
